Presence and energy are fundamental elements in my work.
Starting from the release technique, we will begin with an energetic and physical warming up on the floor which continues into a stand up session. Both are centralized on the principle of weight, gravity, fall and recovery.
We will explore different sequences with different speeds, levels of difficulty, impulses and explore how the repetition provoke a bodily " crisis " where new solutions are needed and found, where the unexpected can occur.
My focus it to put the body in a constant state of urgency a "nowness". This entails a strong presence of mind,
speed responding, and actively manifesting external influences in movement.
The aim is to encourage and inspire the dancers to find his or her own poetic movement and to establish a constant observation of the details and accuracy of the movement itself.
